If you want the material chopped fine (2-4 cm or finer) for feeding, grain, or biogas, you need a tub grinder with a BigBite hammer mill. If you just want to shred and spread whole bales, you need a bale processor.

How many tons do you need in one day per week?
Most customers get the best return when they can batch all their grinding into about one day a week. That leaves six days where no one has to worry about grinding. Size the machine for one day of grinding at the weekly volume you need. Not tons per hour chasing its tail. Tonnages below are for straw and hay. Grain is roughly double (weight per cubic meter is higher).

What kind of bales are you processing?
The BB-2800 is our only machine with hydraulic squeeze bars that self-load any bale. Round or square, large or small. The others can handle square bales, but you’ll need a telehandler or loader to get them in. The BB-2100 is round bales only.

Why It Matters
The Real Payoff Isn’t Tons Per Hour. It’s Feeding Time.
The nutrition numbers on a HayBuster are proven, but what makes our customers passionate is what happens in the barn. Feeding time gets cut in half. The ration comes out homogeneous so cattle can’t sort. They just eat. Dust comes off the material when it’s ground, so feed that would have been thrown out gets back into the ration. Intake goes up, especially on dry cows. Waste goes down. Feed costs go down.
That’s why sizing for one day of grinding per week matters. Six days of your operator’s time back, and a better diet in the bunk every day of the week.
